There is no grant of arms in existence however, the authenticity and antiquity of the coat of arms are certified by court antiquarian appraisals on different items, including an ancient seal still in the family’s possession.

The surname means “those from Avesa”, a village belonging to the municipality of Verona, Italy. The family is an ancient Burgher family residing in the outskirts of Verona, Italy, probably since the middle age. The arms are believed to have been assumed no later than the XVII century.

The motto is a pun, meaning “Welcome and stay safe” but also “Stay true to the Avesani family”.

At Antonio’s death, his son Domenico (born 9 April 1797) inherited and used the arms; at Domenico’s death, the arms were inherited and used by his daughter Angela (born 5 April 1824) and her brother Natale (born 26 September 1821). The arms have been registered at the request of Daniele Scarpi, whose great-great-grandfather, a resident of San Michele, 37132 VR, Italy, married Angela.
